Know Right Now: Friend of Mine

Yet another Aussie brand stumbled into our radar this week, confirming again suspicions that Sydney is a hotbed of rising fashion stars.  Friend of Mine, the brainchild of designer Teale Talbot and business partner, Letitia McLean, is ready for prime-time, with a quirky (but timely) beach-meets-grunge aesthetic that will have you shredding your Levi's in no time.

Their latest collection, "The Me Decade," expounds on the brand's sloppy/sexy look, with silk blouses tucked into shorts up to there, asymmetrical one-shoulder dresses, leopard print bodysuits and -- best of all -- a short suit in creamsicle orange. The new lookbook features leggy up-and-comer, Alexandra Spencer, whose mile-long gams add even more va va voom to the already risque collection.

If you're not a huge fan of invisible hotpants, fear not: The collection includes more universally appealing options like slinky polka dot trousers, perfect pocket oxfords and simple, tailored jackets. Now, if they can just get their merch into US stores, we'll be set.

For now, shop the current collection online at www.friendofmine.swappler.com.
