Now Open: In God We Trust (Greenpoint)

One of our favorite NY indie institutions, In God We Trust, has returned to its Brooklyn roots with the opening of it's 4th shop in Greenpoint.  Their very first Williamsburg location became a bastion of hipster cool developed by owner and designer, Shana Tabor, whose aesthetic suits the neighborhood perfectly designing adorable rompers, vintage-esque sundresses, and menswear inspired trousers.  In other words, exactly the pieces you covet right when you get off the L.

After opening 2 more successful Manhattan shops IGWT is back in Brooklyn not far from where it all began.  Last night was the opening party complete with Hendricks Gin and beer, libations that decidedly jive with the store's old-school general store meets curiosity shop decor. Or, as Tabor told to The Cut back in June, the interiors are inspired by "The Ladykillers — the movie from the fifties with Peter Sellers!"  Either way, Gin and beer suits just fine.

Not that you needed it, but yet another reason to hit up Greenpoint over the weekend.

In God We Trust
is located at:

70 Greenpoint Ave. between Franklin and West St. in Greenpoint

135 Wythe St. between N. 7th and N. 8th St. in Williamsburg

265 Lafayette St. between Prince and Spring Streets in Nolita

153 Ludlow between Stanton and Rivington St. in the Lower East Side
