“Hope For Haiti” Is Celeb-A-Rama Television

If you head straight for the "Celebrities are just like us!" section of your weekly tabloid, the "Hope For Haiti" telethon on Friday night is turning into the must-see show of the decade for you.

George Clooney is clearly burning through the his celeb black book for this event. Movies stars says such as Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, Clint Eastwood, Julia Roberts and Nicole Kidman will be among the many stars of screen, television and music to take part.

The celebs will be giving personal appeals for donations and will be answering phones from the callers pledging support. Some of the best television watching in these celeb-a-thons is seeing the celebrities picking up the phones in the background and yucking it up with the locals. It's just surreal.

There will also be A-list music, as list of acts grows by the hour.  MTV.com reports Beyoncé (performing in London) and Madonna (in New York)  are performers who have been added in the past 24 hours.

They join Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting in New York City. In Los Angeles performers include Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a collaboration by Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow.

In London, Coldplay will perform, and there will be a group performance by Jay-Z, Rihanna and U2's Bono and The Edge.

Wyclef Jean will head up the efforts in New York City, organizing-master George Clooney will take the lead in Los Angeles and Anderson Cooper will report from Haiti.
