Allied Works' Brad Cloepfil (right) has been taking a lot of heat for his 2 Columbus Circle re-do, but not too much heat to kick the architect out of the kitchen. We hear that Allied Works' next NYC project will be a hotel for Ian Schrager, perhaps one of those private-label boutique joints near the High Line that he mentioned to Portfolio. In an amusing coincidence, Schrager actually considered acquiring and demolishing 2 Columbus Circle back in 2001. Then again, what site hasn't passed through the Schrage's hands?
