Project Runway's Anti-Finale

The seemingly unstoppable train that is "Project Runway" forged ahead, taping its sixth-season finale on the final day of fashion week, but there was something missing: the finalists themselves.

Because the show has been in limbo due to a continuing legal battle, the three final designers—who had the immense honor of having their collections shown at Fashion Week—couldn't be shown. While some thought the designers' anonymity actually improved the show itself (designer John Varvatos pointed out that "it was very intriguing to take away the personality factor," and just see the clothes for what they are), former winner Christian Siriano called the whole thing "tragic."

All that said, everyone agreed that the collections overall were incredibly strong, especially the final contestant, who showed an incredibly complex, rock-and-roll type show with amazing craftsmanship, as well as a real talent for knitwear. Take a peek all the collections and decide for yourself.

And speaking of strong collections, Mr. "Fierce" Siriano also had a truly splendid showing at Fashion Week, despite the fact that his regular supporter, Heidi Klum, didn't make the show. But no matter: Nina Garcia was on hand with rave reviews about the designer's new pieces, which include his signature ridiculously-ornate embellished cocktail dresses, a couple of long silk gowns, and a final dress with a headpiece that looked straight out of Pan's Labyrinth.
