Go Inside Vena Cava's Studio

A sneak peek at the inspirations for the label's Spring 2010 collection

The adorable duo behind the highly-successful line Vena Cava, Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, recently posted some photos of the Spring 2010 "mood board" inside the designers' Brooklyn studio. The pair's Spring 2010 collection won't debut until fashion week at the end of the summer, but the pictures give a little glimpse into what they might be working up for the big show.

A quick glance reveals tribal prints (a colorful mix of Guatemalan and Mexican-looking textiles), images of a '90s Linda Evangelista, early Moschino, and lots of miniskirts. They even snuck in a little sketch of a t-shirt minidress with a flouncy asymmetrical hem and patterned neckline. We'll have to be satisfied with that little glimpse for now, but it looks likes the Spring 2010 collection will be a dash flirtier than their Fall 2009 offerings.

In the meantime, check out the first look at Vena Cava's Fall 2009 Crystalarium collection, which is apparently shipping to stores next week and, according to the gals, was "inspired by the crystal formations in the natural history museum." We've already got our hearts set on the silver sequin-bedecked cardigan ... This is what always happens. The second the weather gets warm enough for summer's best wares, you can't wait to seewhat's on the horizon for fall.
