Jets Beat Chiefs, Despite Favre's 3 INTs

Here's to hoping Brett Favre has language in his contract for amazingly uninspiring wins, because he's due a nice little bonus after Sunday's effort. Despite Favre, the Jets defeated the lowly Chiefs 28-24, and, really, it could've easily been Kansas City's second win of the season if not for some lucky New York bounces.

In fact, the Chiefs took a 17-14 lead on their first drive of the second half, and midway through the fourth quarter, Favre, from the Kansas City 8-yard line and the Jets up 21-17, threw a pick-six to rookie cornerback Brandon Flowers. I'm sure it was a nice little stroll down memory lane for many Packers fans; Jets supporters, on the other hand, weren't interested in reminiscing and proceeding to boo Favre. Loudly.

The Chiefs being the Chiefs -- and Leon Washington being Leon Washington -- afforded the Jets an opportunity to take the lead late in the game, and after a futility-filled day, Favre managed to float a touchdown pass to Laveranues Coles with just 65 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

New York is now 4-3, still good for third place in the division, but the bigger worry has to be about Favre. The organization did their best to run Chad Pennington out of town, but when the guy you bring in to replace him puts up worse numbers than Tyler Thigpen, well, it might be time to re-evaluate.
