Irony Alert: Jets Grounded by Plane Trouble

By now you know the sordid history of the New York Jets on the West Coast. Losses at San Diego, Oakland and San Francisco (combined record: 14-28) have them in a precarious position with two games to play. That's why this weekend's trip to Seattle, even with a 3-11 record, is fraught with danger for them.

As a way to try and change their luck, the Jets wanted to change their usual plan and head out of town on Saturday instead of Friday. It's doubtful that the day of departure was the reason why the Jets lost those three games, but given the way they've played near the Pacific, and in general, it's worth trying to shake things up a little bit.

Sadly, the good people at Delta, who probably shouldn't start spending next year's Jets charter money yet, weren't so willing to accomodate their customers' request.

"We worked to accommodate the New York Jets' request, although during this busy travel season our equipment is being fully utilized and last-minute changes to our schedule could impact other passengers' travel plans."

And no Kosher meal for Kris Jenkins either!

The flights weren't the reason the Jets lost before, and it would be inane to suggest this as a reason why the Jets should lose to a very bad Seattle team. That said, Jets fans looking for signs why they should panic will surely find them all the same.
