“Immortals” Already Looks Way Better Than “Clash of the Titans”

Check out these first pics from "Immortals," from director Tarsem Singh, starring Mickey Rourke, Henry Cavill and Freida Pinto, with a script that was almost used for "Clash of the Titans."

The upside to Clash of the Titans being as bad as it was is that it left us eager for a good Greek myth epic, and as luck would have it there's already one in the pipeline, from a script that was almost used for Clash.
Behind the camera for Imortals is Tarsem Singh, who made his name doing music videos in the '90s, before making his feature-length debut with The Fall, a visually stunning fairy tale that was grossly under-seen.
Henry Cavill (The Tudors) plays Theseus, "A purported bastard who ... embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king’s son and also fated to become his country’s greatest hero."
Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) plays Phaedra, Theseus' second wife, who in some versions of the legend falls in love with her husband's son from his first marriage.
Mickey Rourke plays King Hyperion, one of the 12 Titans that ruled during the Golden Age in Greek mythology, against whom Theseus wages war.
Singh has likened his gods to "flying squirrels," saying they can fall from a great height and land without injury, but cannot fly. It's unclear what that is on that person's hand but we desperately don;t want to be punched by it.
