The area around the World Trade Center was closed Tuesday after ice began falling from a construction hoist attached to the skyscraper, officials said.
Falling ice concerns this winter have plagued the new building, causing occasional closures of streets below.
The 104-story building has not yet opened to tenants, but the area around its base is busy with pedestrian traffic.
One entrance to the World Trade Center PATH station was closed for a few hours Tuesday morning because of the ice issues, and the Sept. 11 memorial has had to close off part of its north pool as ice was removed from the building.
No injuries were reported from the falling ice.
