A 20-year-old woman who said she was raped and slashed by a knife-wielding man in a Brooklyn park later recanted her story, police said.
The woman initially told police she was walking on South 5th Street near Rodney Park at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday when she was grabbed from behind by the man. The attacker wore a mask and used the knife to cut her clothing, she had said.
She claimed the man then raped her and fled, police said.
The woman went to Woodhull Medical Center where she reported the attack.
Police didn't disclose whether the woman would be charged with falsely reporting a crime.
