No Charges Against Man Accused of Rape in Central Park: NYPD

The NYPD says no charges will be brought against a man accused of raping a woman in Central Park.

The woman had told authorities that she was raped early Tuesday near the Central Park Boathouse by a man she'd met just hours earlier.

Police say the woman met the man on a train in Brooklyn Monday evening. They became friendly, spent two hours together and went to Times Square.

Officials say the two parted ways and met again in Times Square before heading to Central Park.

The Manhattan district attorney's office did not immediately comment on the case.
