Traffic was snarled on the westbound side of the Long Island Expressway Tuesday morning after a garbage truck overturned between exits 48 and 49, authorities said.
The truck overturned at about 3 a.m. Tuesday in the Melville area and blocked all westbound lanes of the expressway during rush hour.
Traffic was delayed for miles in the westbound lanes around the crash. Cars were at a standstill from the scene of the crash to at least Bagatelle Road, authorities said.
