Vehicle Turns Over in Crown Heights After Shots Fired at Driver: Police

A 37-year-old male driver was shot and his passenger was injured when bullets flew at their vehicle in Crown Heights early Friday.

Police are looking for a male suspect they say fired three rounds into the victims' Nissan Maxima around 3:30 a.m. near Crown Street and Schenectady Avenue. The wounded driver flipped his vehicle over while trying to escape. 

He ended up with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is hospitalized in stable condition; the female passenger dodged the bullets and suffered minor injuries. 

It wasn't immediately clear what led to the shooting.
