Police say a teenager is dead and a man is wounded after a double shooting in broad daylight on Tuesday in Brooklyn, the third boy to be gunned down in the borough in less than a week.

The gunfire broke out around 3 p.m. at the Bushwick Houses on Bushwick Avenue in Williamsburg, according to the NYPD. When officers got to the scene, they found a 15-year-old boy shot in his stomach and a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his face.

Both victims were rushed to an area hospital, where the teenager, identified as Kyon Jackson, died, officials said. The man is in stable condition, suffering from what police called a graze wound to his cheek.

A 19-year-old man, Elijah Harris, was arrested on charges of murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon. It's not clear if he has an attorney.

The boy is the third teenager to be shot and killed in Brooklyn in less than a week and the fourth to die after another boy was stabbed to death over the weekend.

A 16-year-old boy who had just celebrated his birthday on Saturday died after he was shot on a Brooklyn street, authorities say. Marc Santia reports.

Justin Richey of Brooklyn was shot and killed in East New York on Sunday, a day after celebrating his 16th birthday, police had said. The teen, an honors student called "Chuck," was killed outside a bodega by a gunman who opened fire after an argument, authorities said.

Last Wednesday, Latrell Brown, also 16, was gunned down in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police had said. Brown's mother clutched and prayed with Richey's aunt on Monday at a march to end gun violence killing young people in the community.

On Saturday, 15-year-old Parlay Oller was stabbed to death in Brownsville, police said. A 25-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with his death.

Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the machete killing of 15-year-old Lesandro 'Junior' Guzman-Feliz. Michael George reports.

Last month, Lesandro Guzman-Feliz, also known as "Junior," was dragged out of a Bronx bodega and killed with a machete in a case of mistaken identity. Police said he was killed by alleged gang members. Junior's death has gained national attention from professional athletes and celebrities.
