Authorities have arrested a 47-year-old man suspected in a string of Manhattan bank robberies.
Federal prosecutors say Jamie Frierson made off with thousands of dollars after robbing or attempting to rob at least seven banks in broad daylight during a span of less than two weeks.
During the August holdups, prosecutors say the bandit would slip a teller a note claiming he was armed, demanding money and threatening to kill the teller.
Frierson appeared in a Manhattan court on Thursday to face bank robbery charges. He's being held without bail. Information on his lawyer wasn't immediately available.
