Six people were arrested and a police officer was hurt after a melee outside a bar in New Jersey early Friday, authorities said.
The suspects, ages 21 to 28, were all charged with rioting and aggravated assault after the brawl outside of Greenrock Tavern and Grill on Hudson Street in Hoboken, according to police.
Authorities said that the fight started when several patrons leaving the bar got in an argument.
Police stationed outside the bar called additional officers to the scene when things got heated. The argument eventually devolved into an all-out brawl and officers from several other departments were called to the scene.
One man had been cut with a glass bottle and had blurred vision after the fight, according to police. He was taken to Hoboken University Medical Center for treatment. A bar employee had a small bruise on his head and was treated at the scene.
One of the officers who responded to the fight was also taken to the hospital for injuries to his left thumb.
It’s not clear if additional arrests will be made in the case.
