16 Students Treated for Nausea, Vomiting at Brooklyn School

Bad pizza may have been the culprit, according to the fire department.

Sixteen students at a Canarsie elementary school were being treated for nausea and vomiting Friday afternoon, according to the fire department.

The children were all from the same third-grade classroom at P.S. 115 on East 92nd Street in Canarsie. Twelve were taken to Jamaica Hospital and four refused medical attention.

They may have eaten bad pizza, according to the fire department.

But a Department of Education spokeswoman said "no determination had been made" and that education authorities were working with the Department of Health to determine the cause of the student illness.

"This could be a virus," said Margie Feinberg, a DOE spokeswoman.
