Sex Offender With AIDS Faces New Charges

New charges have been filed against a registered New York sex offender who has AIDS. He now is accused of having sex with nine young men on Long Island.

Robert Musmacker was initially arrested last month during a traffic stop with a 16-year-old boy in his car.

On Wednesday, the 36-year-old newspaper deliveryman pleaded not guilty to a superseding indictment. It charges him with reckless endangerment, criminal sex acts and endangering the welfare of a child.

The alleged victims, most from the Brentwood area, are between the ages of 16 and 20.

His attorney did not immediately return a call for comment.

Suffolk County District Attorney Thomas Spota said privacy laws prevent him from revealing whether any of the alleged victims contracted the disease.
