A memorial service has been held for a Long Island teenager found dead on a frigid New Year's Day on the side of a road.
About 200 mourners -- including many teens -- gathered in the Joseph A. Slinger Funeral Home in Amityville on Sunday to remember 14-year-old Garrett Quedens.
The body of the teen was found by a newspaper deliveryman by a street in West Babylon just before 4 a.m. Thursday. Police said there was a significant amount of alcohol in his system. There was no sign of foul play.
Police said two men purchased vodka for Quedens and a friend. The men were arrested on charges of unlawfully dealing with a child.
Quedens' family has said they plan to cremate his remains.
