A pedestrian fell through a sidewalk in Manhattan on Saturday morning, firefighters said.
The sidewalk collapsed over the cellar vault of a residential building at 158th Street in Washington Heights, the Department of Buildings said.
One person fell into a hole before 8 a.m., the FDNY said.
The victim was taken to Harlem Hospital and is in serious but stable condition, firefighters said.
A partial vacated order was issued for the sidewalk and cellar vault, the city said. Violations were also issued.
The building has hired a contractor to repair the sidewalk, the city said.
