New Jersey Mayor-Elect's Home Burglarized During Election Night Party

Burglars broke into the home of a New Jersey mayor-elect while he was out at his Election Night celebration this week.

Police are not sure if the burglars knew they were targeting Joey Torres, the next mayor of Paterson, or whether the Tuesday night heist was just a coincidence.

The mayor-elect, who previously served eight years as mayor before he left office in 2010, says the burglars got into his house through a side window and made off with some sentimental items belonging to his wife.

Outgoing Mayor Jeffery Jones' home was burglarized in 2001 and his Marine Corps ring was stolen.
