Ever wanted to visit Seattle, or maybe a Scotland vacation? Well, just step outside and it'll feel like you're there.
Ophelia hasn't been a major storm since Saturday, but its remnants have stuck around for days, soaking the tri-state with a steady and persistent drizzle for the past three days. It's almost been impossible to avoid the mist-like rain, with umbrellas at least partially ineffective at keeping pedestrians dry along NYC streets.
Part of the reason why umbrellas aren't the most effective? Gusty winds, which are set to stick around for again for much of the day. Combined with cooler temperatures barely getting into the 60s, and it makes for a wet and chilly stretch that many seem to be tired of after four straight days.
The National Weather Service said numerous New Jersey communities reported coastal flooding as a result of Ophelia, including Sea Isle City and Brielle. Rain totals closer to NYC were lower, but still in the 1-3 inch range. There remains a chance for coastal flooding through Tuesday afternoon and evening along the shoreline throughout the tri-state.

The good news is that skies clear out by Tuesday evening — some in the region may even get to see the sun set. And then there will be a couple of dry and partly sunny days before showers return Friday.
However, unlike last weekend, this weekend will end up pretty nice once the showers stop late Friday or early Saturday. October starts with some autumn warmth (not heat) with highs back into the low to mid 70s.
