Ohio Teen is Millionth Visitor to 9/11 Center

The 16-year-old was eighth in line when it opened

An Ohio student has become the millionth person to visit the 9/11 tribute center at the World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan.

Shaique Gamble went to the center Friday with the Perry High School Band and Choir from Lima, Ohio. The 16-year-old was eighth in line when it opened. A plaque that was presented contains steel from one of the fallen towers.
The tribute center was created by the September 11th Families'Association. It shares the stories of victims, survivors, rescue and recovery workers, volunteers and residents.

Walking tours, exhibits and programs are offered there. The center also focuses on the first trade center attack, in 1993.
