After spending nearly a week unclaimed in the city morgue, the body of a 4-year-old boy who was found dead with burns and cuts in a Times Square apartment last week has been picked up by a Brooklyn funeral home.

Andrew Sorrentino Funeral Service picked up the body of Myls Dobson Wednesday afternoon on behalf of his mother, Ashlee Dobson. The home said it will also be planning the boy's funeral free of charge, which will be held at First Corinthian Baptist Church in Harlem at 7 p.m. Tuesday. A wake is planned there from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. that day.

Myls died while in the care of 27-year-old Kryzie King, who was arraigned last week on assault and reckless endangerment charges. Myls' father, Okee Wade, had custody of the boy but left him in King's care in December after he was was arrested on unrelated charges in New Jersey. 

At King's arraignment, prosecutors said the boy had been beaten and tortured in the three weeks he was in her care and had burns and cuts all over his body. Myls also hadn't been feed in two weeks and was forced to stand outside in the cold, undressed, the week he died, they said.

King's attorney has said the investigation is ongoing but his client "must be presumed innocent." He said she has been "depressed and sullen."

Last week, Dobson and her supporters blasted the court's decision to give custody of the child to his father. They said the court made the decision because she was living in the shelter system and the boy's father had more money.  

Court officials pushed back at that charge Tuesday, saying the decision had nothing to with Myls' mom being in the shelter.
