Brides magazine turns 75 this year and to celebrate, they opened a Mile High Honeymoon Suite atop Rockefeller Center.
The only catch, it was for one night only. And only one couple was allowed to check in.
Ryan Pattee and Kelley Pattee won a contest to sleepover in the Top of the Rock last night. Or to be precise, he won the Brides contest, Ryan Pattee told NewYorkology while the newlyweds were checking out the "hotel" on Tuesday.
Ryan heard about the contest on TV and secretly wrote an essay explaining why they're the most romantic couple and how illnesses in his wife's family postponed their honeymoon.
And while the Mile High Honeymoon Suite is still on display at Top of the Rock today, the happy couple were scheduled to fly back to Wisconsin this morning for work. The other part of the Brides honeymoon package is a trip to Tahiti , which the Pattees said they haven't yet scheduled.
Rockefeller Center isn’t the only skyscraper Brides is scoping out with its Cupid's arrow. For Valentine's Day, Brides sponsors the wedding at the Empire State Building . This year, 14 couples were selected (from 400 entries,) to exchange vows at the city's tallest skyscraper:
