A man was struck by a bus in midtown Wednesday afternoon, authorities say.
A BxM 9 bus struck the man in front of the Trump Tower skyscraper near 5th Avenue and West 56th Street at about 4 p.m., according to the MTA.
The man had run out into the street from between two parked cars and may have been struck by a taxi cab, which sent him into the path of the bus, the MTA said.
The man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, the FDNY said.
The bus driver stayed on the scene. No one on the bus was injured.
Investigators were on the scene through the evening. The street has reopened but the police activity was slowing traffic on the avenue through rush hour.
