A 37-year-old man died Sunday night after he was shot outside of a public housing building in Coney Island, police said.
Someone called 911 just after 9:15 p.m. to report that a man had been shot in the Surfside Gardens Houses, near West 33rd Street.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the man, who had been shot in the head.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
No one has been arrested and a police investigation is ongoing.
