Authorities in Canada have accused a Justin Bieber impersonator of threatening and sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl in New Jersey through a video chat site online.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray says 34-year-old Lee Moir of Toronto, Ontario, posed as the pop star on Facebook.
Authorities allege he threatened to harm the girl's family to force her to perform sex acts using a video chat site. She complied, and when she stopped talking to Moir, he told her to post the videos to a pornographic website, police said.
The incidents were investigated by U.S. law enforcement, who found the man was living in Toronto, police said.
In a separate investigation, Canadian police arrested Moir after he allegedly tried to meet an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl in Toronto.
Authorities say Moir engaged the officer in sexual conversations and requested a meeting. Toronto police arrested him when he arrived at a designated location.
He's charged in Canada with luring, manufacturing and possessing child pornography and extortion.
It's not clear whether Moir has an attorney.
