NJ Home Invaders Targeting Asian Indians: Police

Police in New Jersey are investigating the latest in a string of home invasions that have targeted residents of Indian descent.

A fifth family was tied up with duct tape and robbed at their home in Old Bridge on Saturday night, police say. Police say the armed men who barged in the house made off with cash and jewelry.

"My fear was what if they don't find anything, and what if they hurt us," a resident told NBC 4 New York.

The woman said the robbers waved guns in front of her two sons, ages 4 and 6.

The home invasion is the fifth time Asian Indian families have been tied up and robbed, Middlesex County prosecutors say.

The recent string of home invasions began Oct. 20 in Old Bridge, police said. Subsequent home invasions were in South Plainfield and Edison.

Anyone with information about the invaders is asked to call the Middlesex County Crime Stoppers at 800-939-9600.
