Long Island Grocery Store Clerk Flashed Girls, 5 and 7: Police

A Long Island grocery store clerk has been arrested after police accused him of flashing two girls and forced one of them to touch him last month in the store.

Edward Ramirez, 43, was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child after the girls, ages 5 and 7, were flashed at a Stop and Shop in Glen Cove on Nov. 24.

Nassau County police say the girls were at the store with their mother and had gone into another aisle alone when they were approached by a store clerk.

The clerk allegedly exposed himself to the 7-year-old while looking at her, and the girl ran to tell her mother what had happened. The suspect then allegedly exposed himself to the 5-year-old and forced her to touch him, and she too ran to tell her mother.

Ramirez was arrested Tuesday and was set to be arraigned Wednesday. It’s not clear if he has an attorney.
