A human fetus found in a sewer grate in Rockland County will be buried this week.
Private services are scheduled at Scarr Funeral Home and Airmont Cemetary for the next week, according to the Suffern Police Department's Facebook page.
The funeral home and cemetary will donate their services and the police department will cover any additional costs.
Workers found the fetus in a sewer grate next to a sewage treatment plant last Friday around 7:40 a.m.
Police say they believe the male fetus was miscarried between 15 and 19 weeks in development.
It's not clear how the fetus ended up in the grate and no arrests have been made.
