Two men fought over a subway seat Sunday afternoon and the ride for both ended at the hospital, police said.
The argument started on a northbound 4 train in East Harlem.
One rider pulled out a knife and stabbed the other a few times, but the wounded man was able to punch the knife-wielding rider, police said.
The fight ended at about 12:30 p.m. on the subway platform at the 125th Street-Lexington Avenue station.
Charges are pending and both will be charged, investigators said. Their names haven't been disclosed by police.
One man was taken to Harlem Hospital Center; the other was sent to Mount Sinai St. Luke's Hospital.
