Cops Shoot Man Holding Loaded Gun: NYPD

New York City police officers shot a man Saturday when he refused to drop a gun he was holding, police said.

Police received a call about a man with a gun, and when two uniformed officers arrived at Bridge Street in Downtown Brooklyn shortly before 1 a.m., they encountered a 34-year-old man, who pulled a loaded .45-caliber handgun out and ignored instructions to drop it, according to the NYPD.

The two officers fired four bullets, hitting the man once in the lower torso and grazing him in the arm.

The man, whose identity wasn't disclosed, was brought to a hospital in stable condition and remains in police custody there.
