Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to rape a woman inside an elevator in the Bronx Wednesday.
The 33-year-old woman was riding the elevator in her apartment building in the area of East 162nd Street and Sheraton Avenue in Concourse at about 10:15 p.m. when a man in the elevator tried to engage her in conversation, according to police.
When the woman got off the elevator, the suspect followed her and approached her from behind with his pants down and grabbed her buttocks, police said. He tried to pull the woman away from her door but ran away when another resident came to the door.
The suspect is described as about 5 feet 8 inches and 160 pounds, last seen wearing a striped hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
