A building worker plunged five stories to his death, trying to escape a trapped elevator Friday night in Brooklyn, police said.
The 25-year old man was inside the elevator in the building on Flushing Avenue in the Brooklyn Navy Yards, when the power suddenly went out. Authorities say he opened the doors to try and get out, but accidentally slipped and fell down the elevator shaft.
He was taken to Brooklyn Hospital where was pronounced dead.
