Woman Killed by Mack Truck as She Tries to Cross New York City Street: Police

A 55-year-old woman was stuck and killed by a commercial Mack truck as she tried to cross a Bronx street Thursday, authorities say. 

Floria Burton, of the Bronx, was trying to cross Seneca Avenue near Bryant Avenue around 8:30 a.m. when she was hit by the truck, which had been traveling west on Seneca Avenue. 

Burton was pronounced dead at a hospital. 

The 44-year-old truck driver remained at the scene. No criminality is suspected.
