Virgin Air Might Make Push for Pilot Sully

Richard Branson says he'd like hero to "come fly for us"

Virgin Air founder and mega-rich dude Richard Branson sounds like he's interested in hiring away Chesley Sullenberger III, according to a published report.

Remember Sullenberger, the pilot who heroically landed a US Airways jet on the Hudson River last month and saved all 155 people on board? Yeah, that guy.

"I'd like him to come fly for us," Branson told Rush & Molloy in a story on The New York Daily News Sunday. "We'll make him the best paid pilot at Virgin."

"Sully," as he's known, has kept a low profile since the Jan. 15 "Miracle on the Hudson." But he told the Daily News that he'd "entertain all the things that are coming my way."

Sully and the rest of the Flight 1549 crew were honored before Super Bowl XLIII kicked off in Tampa Sunday night.
