2 Dead in Single-Car Crash on Long Island Expressway

Two men died when their car spun out of control near a Long Island Expressway exit Saturday and crashed, according to police.

The 30-year-old driver was headed west on the LIE shortly before 1 a.m. when he attempted to exit onto the Grand Central Parkway, according to the NYPD. Instead, the car struck a guardrail and then a metal structure, coming to rest on its side.

Both the driver and his 31-year-old passenger were taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where they were pronounced dead. No other vehicles were involved.
