Man Attacked on Subway for Being a Trump Supporter: NYPD

A supporter of president-elect Donald Trump was grabbed on the subway Friday afternoon, police said.

The 24-year-old victim, who is white, boarded a Bronx-bound train at the 14th Street-Union Square station at around 3 p.m. on Friday, authorities said.

As the train approached the 138th Street-Grand Concourse station in the Bronx, a black male passenger pointed at the victim's "Make America Great Again" hat and asked if he was a Trump supporter. When he nodded yes, the suspect said, "Great, another white Trump supporter," and grabbed the victim by the neck, causing pain to his left shoulder, police said.

The incident happened a day before anti-Trump demonstrations took place at Union Square and Trump Tower on Saturday afternoon.
