Tiny Kitten Piled Under Trash Bags in Garbage Bin: SPCA

A tiny kitten was saved after sanitation workers found it tossed in a garbage can, piled under two bags of trash Tuesday on Long Island.

The adorable black, white and orange feline was barely alive when workers found it in the trash bin on Nassau Lane in Island Park, according to the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The SPCA says the 6- to 7-week-old kitten was taken to a nearby hospital, where veterinarians saved its life.

The organization is offering a $5,000 reward in the search for whoever put the cat in the garbage can. Anyone with information is asked to call 516-THE-SPCA.
