Several otherwise busy Manhattan streets will be closed Monday for the annual Columbus Day parade, the NYPD says.
The parade route will close Fifth Avenue between East 47th Street and East 72nd Street from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The NYPD says that 43rd, 44th, 45th, 46th and 47th streets between Madison Avenue and Sixth Avenue will also be closed for the formation of the parade, as will Fifth Avenue between 43rd and 47th streets.
Following the parade, Fifth Avenue will be closed between 72nd and 75th streets for dispersal. East 73rd and East 74th streets will also be closed between Fifth and Madison avenues.
Police officers may close East 69th and East 70th streets between Park and Fifth avenues at their discretion during the event.
