Police Say NJ White Powder Scares May Be Connected

Police in New Jersey say the same person may be responsible for white powder that was mailed to several office and government buildings around the state.

The most recent incident occurred in Wayne this week when the discovery of the powder forced the evacuation of a Motor Vehicle Commission office. The substance was determined to be baking powder.

In the last two weeks, Wayne's police station and courthouse and an MVC office in Trenton have received similar envelopes.

An investigator for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service tells The Record of Woodland Park that the envelopes appear to have been mailed by the same person.
