A 61-year-old woman was struck and seriously injured by a tractor trailer in Queens Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
The pedestrian was walking at Beach Channel Drive and Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway when she was hit by the big rig, according to the FDNY.
The NYPD and FDNY both said that the victim sustained critical injuries. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital.
The driver stayed at scene but hasn't been charged with any crimes.
The roadway was shut down to traffic for several hours. It reopened to traffic at about 5 p.m.
