Midtown commuters should expect some route changes Tuesday morning after an accident involving a taxi and a pedestrian caused delays near 42nd Street.
Emergency personnel said the victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition following the accident just before 4:30 a.m. His identity was not immediately available.
Authorities shut down 42nd Street between Eight and Ninth avenues for a time but reopened the street shortly after 7 a.m. Residual delays are expected. The M42 bus was rerouted.
The circumstances surrounding the accident weren't immediately clear.
