A man believed to be in his 20s was taken to a hospital in critical condition with severe head trauma when he was hit by a car as he tried to cross a Queens street Monday, authorities say.
The man was crossing midblock on Metropolitan Avenue shortly before 11 a.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Grand Marquis. The driver remained at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
