A registered nurse has been charged with sexually assaulting two patients at a hospital emergency room in New Brunswick, authorities said.

Wilber Hernandez, 29, of Perth Amboy, was arrested Thursday and charged with sexual assault and lewdness stemming from two incidents with patients at the emergency room, police said.

Hernandez was employed at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick when the two incidents occurred. One involved a 49-year-old woman in October 2016 and the other a 74-year-old woman on June 29, officials said.

He is suspended from working at the hospital as well as Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick and Maxim Healthcare Services in North Brunswick.
