Long Island Taxi Driver Hits House, Dies During Medical Event: Police

A 92-year-old taxi driver crashed his car into a house on Long Island and died after suffering some sort of medical event, police say.

The driver, identified as Joseph Saccente, was heading north on Shore Drive in Oakville at about 7 a.m. Thursday when he had the episode, Suffolk County police say.

Saccente lost control of the vehicle and plowed into the den of a home after hitting several mailboxes and driving through a few lawns.

The man was taken to the hospital after the impact, where he was pronounced dead.
