New Jersey to Release 1st Results of New Standardized Test

New Jersey is planning to release results from last spring's initial administration of a new standardized test.

Education Commissioner David Hespe is planning to release aggregated data Tuesday from the test developed by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers.

The exam is designed to show how well students are learning the new national Common Core curriculum standards and was given last year in New Jersey and 10 other states.

Some parents had their students boycott, citing a culture of increasingly high-stakes testing for students.

Teacher evaluations in New Jersey are based partly on how much students improve on tests.

Gov. Chris Christie has ordered a review of whether New Jersey should be using the Common Core standards.
