Got a stone arrowhead or a mysterious fossil rattling around in the sock drawer?
Saturday is the day to bring it to the American Museum of Natural History to be identified.
Museum scientists will examine unidentified shells, rocks, insects, feathers, bones and artifacts.
The Identification Day event takes place from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the museum on Manhattan's Upper West Side.
Specimens that have been identified in previous years have included a whale jawbone, a fossilized giraffe vertebra and a 5,000-year-old spear-point from Morocco.
The museum is offering 3D scanning of specimens for the first time this year. Visitors will be able to see slice-by-slice pictures of their items and create virtual 3D models
